How to find the song in any TikTok video: 5 ways that work

TikTok Song Finder

Five practical ways to name the song behind a TikTok, from the sound page to pasting the link into a finder.

You hear a track you love, the video moves on, and the sound is labelled "original sound". Here are five ways to get the name, in the order we would try them.

1. Tap the sound name

On the video, tap the spinning disc or the sound name at the bottom. If the creator picked a track from TikTok's library, the title and artist are right there, and you can save it to your Favourites.

2. Check the caption and comments

Creators often credit the song, and the comments are full of people asking "what's the song?" with someone answering. Search the comments for "song" or "music".

3. Look at other videos using the same sound

Open the sound page and look at the other videos. A longer clip, or one where the music isn't buried under a voiceover, often shows a proper credit.

4. Use a music-recognition app

Play the video out loud and let a recognition app listen. This works in a quiet room, but short clips, sped-up edits and voiceovers over music are exactly where it struggles.

5. Paste the link into a song finder

A link-based finder reads the video's own audio, so it doesn't matter whether the sound is loud, whether you are on a train, or whether you are on a second device. In TikTok tap Share → Copy link, paste it into the box on our home page and press Find Song. If we don't find it, you aren't charged.

Which should you try first?

Start with the sound page (1 and 3). If the sound is labelled original sound, or the video is sped up or slowed down, jump to a link-based finder.
